Detoxification
Treatment for Alcohol and Drug Addiction
Alcohol and Drug Addictions are complex but
treatable diseases. They are characterized by compulsive cravings and
tend to persist even in the face of severe consequences. The goal of
Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment is to achieve lasting abstinence,
to improve the ability to function in society, and to minimize the
medical and social complications of alcohol and drug abuse. Recovery
Resources understands the
difficulty that clients have with fear of withdrawal from their drug
use. It is the beginning of their physical recovery, and it
is important to us that the detox protocol comfortable and safe.
Recovery Resources is
not a hospital with acute care, however we will evaluate and assess
your detoxification needs and manage your detox
appropriately. If you require more acute care, we will have
you detoxed safely and painlessly at an acute medical
facility. However, before entering Intensive Drug and Alcohol Addiction
Treatment, an evaluation by Recovery Resources' Clinical professionals
will determine if a medically supervised physical detoxification is
necessary. Opiate
Detoxification Recovery Resources’ Medical
Director, Dr. Philippe Martineau M.D. will assess our clients to
determine the appropriateness of an opiate detox. This is for
those clients that come to Recovery Resources using only opiates. The
opiate “family” includes oxycontin, roxicodone, vicodin, percoset,
codine and hydrocodone. It is an “outpatient” detox
that he will administer to our clients residing with Recovery
Resources. The
“outpatient” detoxification is appropriate for our clients who need
medically managed detoxification but do not require twenty four hour
medical supervision. Our clients will still reside with us
and get all the counseling and treatment that is part of our Intensive
Residential Program.
